WTF is this?

Fat Craft Crew is an affinity space for creative fat folks. Let me say it again for the people in the back—this is a space for FAT FOLKS ONLY!!! If you are a fat person who’s into fat liberation and gluing their fingers together, than this is the place for you. Come be with like-minded rad fatties who will support your creative process and are excited to make dope art alongside you, too.

You’ll get:

  • Lightly structured event

  • Low pressure socializing

  • Opportunity to meet fat community

  • Monthly creative accountabilibuddies (if you want it!)

  • Learn about and listen to fat music (or mute if ya don’t like it)

What To Expect

  • An affinity space for fat folks only

  • 90-minute sessions on Zoom

  • Meets every first Saturday at 2pm Pacific

  • Sliding scale $5-$25 per person, per session

  • Payment submitted via Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle (PayPal available for international folks only. They charge a fee, please consider covering that.)

Format

  • Introductions (name, pronouns, location, what you’re working on) - 15 minutes

  • Creative time with music featuring fat artists - 30 minutes

  • Brief check-in - 5 minutes

  • More creative time - 25 minutes

  • Check out (how it went) - 15 minutes

  • This timeline could be flexible if check-ins are shorter, allowing for more creative time

Group Guidelines

We cannot guarantee safety in any space, but we can strive for it. Our group has guidelines that include:

  • We ask before offering feedback, unless feedback has been explicitly requested. 

  • We refrain from promoting diet and weight loss.

  • We refrain from all forms of hate speech and from making disparaging remarks about bodies of any kind. 

  • We also have an agreed upon plan in the event that harm is experienced within the group.
