About Bree XVI

Hi! I’m Bree (they/them), and I just wanna help people in the ways that I know how.

I utilize a combination of my personal, professional, academic, and community experience to inform the offerings you find here. Here are some lenses of experience that my support comes from:

  • Coven organizer, 2020-Present

  • MA in Psychology, 2020. I specialized in Community Psychology and left the clinical program for a variety of reasons, including an interest in research. My thesis was a 40-person study analyzing positive and negative influences on fat people’s body image and everyday strategies for fat empowerment.

  • Tarot student and reader, 2017-Present

  • Zine fest organizer, 2017-Present (Check it out at @sfvzinefest and sfvzinefest.com.)

  • Workshop organizer and facilitator, 2015-Present. My workshop specialities are zine making and fat empowerment.

  • 12 Step recovery, 2014 with a “sober birthday” of June 2016, sponsoring since 2017, Conference Committee co-chair since 2020.

  • Open mic organizer and host, 2014-2020. Pending post-COVID revival!

  • Roller derby coach, 2013-Present.

  • Sex educator and writer, 2012-2020

  • BA in Film, 2011. Surprise, surprise! I’m an art school kid. I went to an arts high school, too.

  • Resident Assistant, 2009-2010. If you don’t know what this means: I ran a couple floors of the dorms in college and it was the best first community training I didn’t even know I needed.

  • Therapy client, 2002-Present

And here are some more words that I use to describe myself: fat, queer, non-binary, fluid, neurodivergent (I have bipolar I and anxiety), Jew-ish, witch, weirdo, animal-lover, artist, writer, partner, friend.
